Toa Payoh Ridge (Un-Built)
Year: 2017
Region: SINGAPORE
Stage: Expression of Interest
Category: Residential
Built in 1964, Toa Payoh New Town is Singapore’s second oldest satellite town. The current slew of redevelopment within the town is a regeneration and will bring new vitality to the aging estate. Akin to new buds blossoming, this new precinct will serve as an “urban acupuncture”, stimulating new growths within as well as beyond its immediate boundaries.
Toa Payoh Ridge encapsulates the new super high-rise silhouette as its distinctive dominance within the tight site amid a lush groundscape. Our key challenge is to ensure the vertical scale of the buildings is humanised with an appropriate ‘street-like’ response to reinforce and integrate the experiences of the street into this development.
